We are preparing to launch a blog for our association. Any suggestions/best practices? I missed Buzz2009 (in KY and couldn't make the trip) but I heard the topics were amazing! Any tips?

Kate - Tell us a little about the blog (i.e. main purpose of the blog, why you feel it's important for your viewers, etc)
Here's some really good stuff for driving traffic:

None of these talk about twitter, but it will be a powerful asset for new viewers. Tweet (and more importantly re-tweet) about interesting things, and in turn followers will want to know more about what you have to offer usually by visiting your site (blog). There's enough spammers and self-promoters on twitter, so provide value for your followers (and not the same things from your blog, the whole idea is to get them to go there!). Use proper twitter etiquette and follow people back. Use the search to find out whose talking about topics related to your association, what you're talking about on the blog, and your industry, and follow those people. I'm sure you know a lot of this, but I'd like to reaffirm it anyway.
Hope this helps!
Kate, I think that probably begs the question "why?" What's the business need you've identified that starting a blog will address? Without that information, it's kind of hard to figure out what sort of advice - aside from the standard post frequently, have an identifiable voice, be interesting - might be useful to you.
